The term of the current FMA office-bearers concludes at the end of the Annual General Meeting in May. Nominations for the positions were sought from Members in accordance with the FMA Constitution on 11 April. Walker, Corporate Member WMS Engineering. As there is one nomination for each position those nominees are elected. Ian Dinham will become the Immediate Past President, and will remain a member of the Executive Committee. Executive Officer Glenn Evans acknowledged the lasting contributions to FMA and the Executive Committee made by Ian
Dinham as FMA Chairman and President since 2011, Allan Gear as Deputy President since 2019, and Allan Ezzy as Immediate Past Chairman since 2011. Jess Carey is a professional flood risk specialist with a wealth of experience in hydrology, numerical models, and flood risk assessments.
He is well known to Queensland Members, and is a regular contributor to FMA Meetings, Workshops and Conferences. Catherine Walker has over 10 years’ experience in civil engineering and floodplain risk management. She was an inaugural FMA Young Floodplain Manager Committee
Member, and has continued to contribute to the growth and development of the YFM network. “I warmly welcome Jess Carey and Catherine Walker to the FMA Executive Committee. We have an excellent team with fresh ideas and a wealth of expertise in engineering, land use planning,
communication and management to ensure FMA’s continued development over the next two years”.
